BEING FREE

Freedom is power.
Power of choice.
Power over self.
But freedom can be overwhelming.
Freedom can help self sabotage you.
But most of all-You'll still have the power of choice.

It was my 12th grade farewell party.
The environment was enthralling.
Everyone was enjoying the show.
Lots of great vibes were going around.
But.
I was disappointed.
I wanted to leave.
I was feeling chronically sad in my own farewell party.
While dancing I wanted to disappear over the face of earth.

Over the years my thinking had become insidiously narrow minded.I was free from the outside,but shackled from chains inside....

I was a broken person.Fear and self doubt had broken me.I was doing what I hated.
You see....I was not myself.
Somewhere along the line I had lost myself.I do not admit I have found myself now but MOST OF ALL I AM FREE.

Society tells us what to do and what not.It assigns you roles which are utter BS.
I am here to tell you that you can tell the society to fuck off.

Maybe like me earlier you are now led down the wrong god damn path.
Maybe your eyes are closed but you think they are open.

Which brings me back to the party.
I felt like a loser.
There I was walking pompously to the party,thinking-I am the man....
Knowing I was a walking piece of nothingness...

Guilt eats you away like anything....

A lot has changed since then.I  feel the power surging through me. 

Maybe you are where I was years ago.Or on the path to it.Or not.

What matters most is that you open your eyes and be aware that you are free.
Free to do anything.
Free to do what matters most.
Through a single choice you can change the path of your life.

Even if you cannot.You must know one thing-Ultimately you chose what to do,not the society,not your friends,not your parents,not your relatives but you......

My eyes have opened now.
When will yours?
