Chuma and Azur, were two nephews of a great Egyptian pharaoh. At the age of 18 they were summoned to the court of the ruler himself. They were given a daunting task-one which could make them or break them.
They were commissioned to build two individual giant pyramids to continue the legacy of Egypt. On completion of the pyramids they would be awarded infinite riches and treasures , kinship, and retirement in big palaces.....
The condition was they could not help each other.
Both of them know the project will take them years nonetheless they are honored by the ruler's offer.
Azur immediately starts the work next day,he carves out the area and starts placing large square blocks of stone solidifying the base.In a month his outer base is ready. In an year his square foundation is ready.Villagers gather and praise him.....
But one thing seriously bothers him.The area where Chuma was to build is barren. No stones. No design.Barren. The place is same as an year before.
Azur visits Chuma. He is in his barn working on same crazy human torture like device.Azur chides him for directly betraying the pharaoh.Chuma confidently tells him to go back while he is working on his own pyramid. He asks Azur to open his eyes and neglect the prize but Azur laughs at him.
Another year passes and Azur solidifies the base of his pyramid and begins the second level. Except a problem arises. Azur struggles in his progress. The stones are heavy and he cannot raise them to the pyramid's second level. Challenged by his physical limitations, Azur seeks the counsel of Bennu, Egypt's strongest man. For a fee, Bennu trains Azur to build bigger and stronger muscles. With great strength, Azur anticipates the heavier stones will be easier to ift onto the higher levels.
Meanwhile, Chuma's pyramid plot of land is still barren. Azur assumes his brother has a death wish since, by all appearances, Chuma is violating Pharaoh's mandate. Azur forgets about his brother and his nonexistent pyramid.
Even after years of labour the pyramid is yet to be half built. As the weight of stones increases Azur has to increase his strength by training and an exotic diet.Still often sometimes he can only place one stone a day. He calculates that he has toil on for another 30 years before the pyramid is built.
Unfazed he continues everyday comparing himself to his brother who hasn't laid a stone in years.
Then one day he hears a commotion in the village. On reaching there he sees a crazy machine built with gears, levers ,cantilevers, shafts and ropes. His suspicion is confirmed.Chuma has started working on his pyramid.Unlike Azur,Chuma has to do no work to place the stones.Heavy stones are
moved quickly and magically.
While Azur's pyramid foundation took over a year to build, Chuma lines up the foundation to his pyramid within one week. The second level that Azur soarduously struggled with is even more shocking: Chuma's machine does thework 30 times quicker. What took Azur two months takes Chuma's machine two days. After 40 days, Chuma and his machine accomplish as much as Azur's three years of toilsome work.
Azur was destroyed. He spent years doing the heavy lifting while Chuma built a
machine to do it for him. Instead of honoring the machine, Azur vows, “I must get stronger! I must lift heavier stones!” Azur continues the hard labor of pyramid building while Chuma
continues to work the crank of his machine.
After 8 years Chuma completes his pyramid. At the age of 26 he is honored by the pharaoh himself and is granted all the riches and power he desires. He now lives in his own palace retired with many concubine!
Meanwhile, Azur is blinded by his capabilities and continues to work everyday. Lift rocks, waste time and money to get stronger, lift rocks, and get stronger. Sadly, Azur refuses to acknowledge his flawed strategy
This mindless prescription leads Azur to a lifetime of toil.Azur has a heart attack and dies while on the 12th level of his pyramid, just two levels from finishing. He never experiences the great riches promised by Pharaoh.
